Media release from South Rome Alliance:
In partnership with the Community Foundation for Greater Rome, South Rome Alliance is accepting grant proposals for projects benefiting the South Rome neighborhood. Proposals are due by Monday, March 31, 2025.
“This is the third year we’ve been doing these South Rome grants, and we’ve been thrilled with the programs that have come out of these grants,” SRA board chair David Williams said. Williams shared that the organization has made over $100,000 in grants to the South Rome community since 2023.
The ideal grant project will be led by someone with ties to South Rome, include creative ideas to address an unmet need, bring together partners, and make a big impact with a realistic budget. Nonprofits, church groups, and organized groups of neighbors with a nonprofit fiscal sponsor are encouraged to apply for up to $15,000.
Once proposals are received, a grant committee will meet to decide what projects to fund. The committee will include representatives from the South Rome community and the Community Foundation for Greater Rome. South Rome Alliance has created a fund with the Community Foundation to continue making grants in South Rome each year moving forward.
“We are thrilled to again partner with the South Rome Alliance to recognize and reward positive efforts to improve the lives of Romans,” said Community Foundation interim executive director Jennifer Scott.
The full grant requirements can be found at www.cffgr.org/south-rome-community-grants. Groups can submit applications through an online form, as a document, or an audio or video recording. The grant application is six simple questions and should be no longer than 2-3 pages.
