Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County seeks mentors, volunteers, and donations from concerned citizens that seek to have a positive impact on local students.
A special emphasis was placed on the need for mentors throughout January in honor of National Mentoring Month. It is a need that exists throughout each school year, according to Gregory Wooten, CIS Executive Director. Training is offered to those willing to serve.
Another way to support the non-profit is to participate in the 2025 CIS Ticket Fundraiser. Tickets are $20 each, and each offers the chance to win the grand prize of $1,000. First and second prizes are $500 each. Tickets are available through any CIS board member, says Wooten.
For additional information, call (706) 802-5740 or send an email to Wooten at [email protected]. The ticket drawing will be held on Saturday, June 6th.
The mission of Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County, according to its website, is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
