Media release from Floyd County, GA Schools:
Coosa High School proudly hosted the 5th Annual 7 Hills Coaches Clinic on Friday, an event that has grown exponentially since its inception.
Led by CHS Athletic Director Joey Mathis, the clinic has expanded from its humble beginnings of 20 participants to an impressive 130 high school coaches from across the region and multiple states.
The clinic, a premier gathering for coaches to connect, learn, and share best practices, provides valuable opportunities to network and refine techniques and skills to elevate their teams and coaching strategies. This year, the event featured a keynote address by Jacksonville State’s Head Coach, Charles Kelly, who shared his insights on leadership, team development, and coaching excellence.
“I’m incredibly proud of how far the 7 Hills Coaches Clinic has come,” said Joey Mathis, founder of the clinic. “What started as a small group of passionate coaches has now become a major event for those looking to improve their craft and connect with others in the industry. It’s inspiring to see this kind of growth, and we are committed to continuing to provide high-quality educational opportunities for coaches for years to come. Thank you to everyone who has made this clinic successful. It takes a big team, and I am thankful for everyone–the sponsors, speakers, volunteers, everyone.”
The clinic was made possible thanks to the support of generous sponsors, including Pro Sports, Rock Run Awards, and Scooter’s Coffee. Their commitment to the event helped ensure its success and provided valuable resources for all attendees.
