Now that we have entered a new year, Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries seeks new volunteers.
Lindsey Kilby, Executive Director, attests that great volunteer opportunities are available to those who wish to serve, particularly groups.
Concerned citizens may support the local non-profit by assisting with the Backpack Buddies program for local schools, the Bagwell Choice Pantry, or office work. Those unable to contribute their time may make a donation, says Kilby.
Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries serves Floyd, Polk, and Chattooga Counties. For more information, visit www.hungerministries.org. Volunteer registration and donations are accepted via that website.
The organization benefited from the 21st annual Empty Bowls and the inaugural Rome Turkey Trot in November. Kilby says that both of the events combined raised about $12,000 and expresses her gratitude for the generosity of this community.
