CAVE SPRING HISTORICAL SOCIETY WELCOMES 2025 WITH CAVE SPRING POLAR PLUNGE ON NEW YEAR’S DAY

The Cave Spring Historical Society welcomed the year 2025 with the annual Cave Spring Polar Plunge at Rolater Lake on Wednesday.

Jennifer Pope of Cartersville attests that she chose to take the plunge because 2025 is her year for ‘never-experienced’ experiences.

Pope’s recent cancer diagnosis motivated her to have new experiences like the Cave Spring Polar Plunge, for which she was joined by a group from her husband’s workplace.

Matt Pope says that he prepared for the plunge by wearing shorts out in the cold throughout the morning.

Jerry Freeman of Canton says that he knocked an item off of his bucket list through his participation in the plunge.

Debbie McDowell of Rockmart also knocked an item off her bucket list when she took the plunge with her husband.

The proceeds from the annual Cave Spring Polar Plunge will support the Cave Spring Historical Society’s efforts to preserve the community’s historic buildings, according to society member Callie McCain.

McCain adds that she is happy that the event brings so many visitors to Cave Spring.

The Cave Spring Historical Society looks forward to welcoming even more visitors to town with additional events in 2025, such as the Cave Spring Arts Festival in June.
