ROME DDA INVITES COMMUNITY TO “ROME FOR THE HOLIDAYS” THIS THURSDAY

Media release from the Rome, GA Downtown Development Authority:

Join us this Thursday, December 19th, from 4 to 8 PM for an evening filled with holiday festivities during Rome for the Holidays. This event, hosted in downtown Rome, promises something for everyone—from shopping and movies to Santa and family-friendly fun. Here’s a look at what’s in store:
Holly Jolly Trolley Rides with Santa
Kick off your evening at 4 PM by hopping aboard the Holly Jolly Trolley! Take a festive loop around Broad Street while singing Christmas carols with Santa. The trolley will pick up and drop off at the Town Green.
Shopping Downtown
From 4 to 8 PM, downtown businesses will host extended shopping hours and special events. Don’t miss the River District Pub Crawl and Shop for a blend of holiday shopping and festive drinks. For a list of participating businesses, follow @downtownromega on Facebook and Instagram.
Family Entertainment at the DeSoto Theatre
Families can enjoy free holiday cartoons at the historic DeSoto Theatre from 4-4:30PM and 5-5:30 PM. Later in the evening, gather for a special screening of the holiday classic Elf at 6 PM. A huge thanks to Georgia Highlands College and the DeSoto Theatre for partnering to bring these free movie experiences to the community. While admission is free, concessions will be available, and attendees are encouraged to support the GHC scholarship fund with a donation to help local students.
Exclusive Pop-in Cocktail Hour
Rome-Floyd Chamber members can join the Pop-in Cocktail Hour at La Scala from 5 to 6 PM. This event is for their Women in Business Group and will be a great chance to catch up with other women professionals while also supporting local businesses.
