ROME HIGH’S LITTLE WOMEN RINGS IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH GOOD CHEER AND THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY

Media release from the Rome High Theatre Department:

The Rome High Theatre Department invites you to join us as we bring the story of LITTLE WOMEN to the next generation on November 21, 23, & 24. Louisa May Allcott’s Little Women has transcended time as a classic story of girlhood, growing up, and what it means to be part of a family. An autobiography of sorts, Allcott’s work comes to life in this adaptation as we see Jo March, a wild young writer parallel Allcott’s own life as she navigates the world of becoming a woman writer and the power that stories hold.

The play, written by Kate Hamill and adapted from Louisa May Alcott’s novel by the same name is a look into the March sister’s home and struggles growing up during and post-Civil War America. The girls learn what it means to become Women in this fantastic two-hour full-length adaptation of Little Women. This is the first full-length play that Rome High Theatre has mounted, directed by Rome High Theatre teacher Alexis Tyson.

Showtimes for LITTLE WOMEN are Thursday at 7:00, Saturday at 2:00 and 7:00, and Sunday at 2:00 in the Rome High School Performing Arts Center, located at 1000 Veterans Memorial Highway in Rome. Tickets are $5 for students and staff, and $10 for all others, and will be available at the door as well as online at Romehightheatre.com. All ticket sales directly support the productions and programming of the RHS Theatre Department, which is primarily self-funded.
