CARNEGIE BUILDING ELEVATOR RENOVATION BEGINS, ADA ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTED

Media release from the City of Rome, GA:

The City of Rome announces that renovations to the Carnegie Building elevator will begin on Monday, November 18, with an expected completion timeline of 8 weeks. During this period, access to the 2nd floor will be restricted to the building’s front and rear stairwells, and unfortunately, the 2nd floor will not be ADA accessible.

The 2nd floor houses the Building Permits/Building Inspection and Planning & Zoning departments. Individuals who require accommodations due to mobility issues are encouraged to contact the respective department in advance to arrange an alternative meeting location on the 1st floor, in the conference room.

For assistance or to schedule an appointment, please contact the appropriate department:

  • Building Permits / Building Inspection: 706-236-4480
  • Planning & Zoning: 706-236-5025

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the community’s patience as we complete these necessary upgrades to enhance the Carnegie Building’s accessibility.
