CHIEFTAINS MUSEUM/MAJOR RIDGE HOME TO HOST A HOLIDAY EVENING AT THE MUSEUM IN EARLY DECEMBER

Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home looks forward to hosting A Holiday Evening at the Museum, a two-night event slated for Friday and Saturday, December 6th and 7th from 5:30 pm until 9 pm.

Cameron Abney, Interim Director, enthuses that the museum, located at 501 Riverside Parkway in Rome, will be decorated in a 19th Century Moravian Christmas fashion and will open its doors to the public for candlelight tours and more.

This event will be perfect for families in search of something fun to do during the holiday season, adds Abney.

Admission will be $5 for students (K-12) and $10 for adults. For additional details, visit www.chieftainsmuseum.org.

The Evening at the Museum was rescheduled to the holiday season from late September because of Hurricane Helene, says Abney.

Prior to those holiday festivities, Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home will host its Annual Member Celebration. That is set for Thursday, December 5th from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. The public may become a museum member on or prior to that date to partake in the celebration.

Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home is a National Historic Landmark and one of only a few private entities to be certified by the National Park Service as a site on the Trail of Tears.
