Rome and Floyd County thanked and celebrated veterans of the United States Armed Forces with Veterans Day events on Monday.
The Exchange Club of Rome led veterans, marching bands, and others in a Veterans Day Parade down Broad Street. It led to the Veterans Day Program hosted by the American Legion Post 5 at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Video of the parade is posted on the Georgia’s Rome page on Facebook.
Bill King, parade organizer and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, stated during a recent interview on WLAQ that Veterans Day is a time set aside every year to extend gratitude towards those who have fought for our freedom.
A Veterans Day Program was also held on Monday morning in Cave Spring. It may be viewed on Facebook; search for Historic Cave Spring Georgia.
