Katie Dempsey of Rome expresses gratitude that she was re-elected by voters in Tuesday’s general election to serve another term in the Georgia House of Representatives. The Republican will continue to represent District 13 after winning the election with 69.76 % of the vote, compared to 30.24 % received by her Democratic challenger Kevin Aronhalt.
Dempsey says that she was pleased by her re-election and by voter turnout in this election.
Now that the election is over, Dempsey attests that it is important for people to work across party lines to ensure the success of the community and state. She adds that this has remained of great importance to her since she was first elected 18 years ago as the successor to longtime Representative Paul Smith, a Democrat.
