Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries seeks new volunteers as Thanksgiving approaches.
Lindsey Kilby, Executive Director, states that the Tuesday before Turkey Day is the busiest day of the year for her organization. Some extra helping hands from around the community are sought to serve those in need on that day and throughout the upcoming holiday season.
Opportunities are available to volunteers that like to work with the public, as well as those who prefer to work behind the scenes, says Kilby, who adds that volunteers may also opt to assist with home delivery to seniors and medically fragile adults.
Those unable to contribute time to Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries may make a financial contribution.
Kilby says that this community has been very generous to the non-profit, which will benefit from the 21st annual Empty Bowls on November 12th and the inaugural Rome Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day (November 28th); this assistance is always needed and appreciated.
