Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County continues to seek mentors and volunteers from around the community to have a positive influence upon local students.
Gregory Wooten, Executive Director, says that mentors and volunteers have the chance to boost students’ success in the areas of academics, attendance, and discipline.
Training is offered to those who wish to serve, adds Wooten.
For more information about the mentor/volunteer program and to browse the training calendar, visit www.cisrome-floyd.org.
Those unable to contribute time may support the non-profit with a financial contribution, states Wooten. The funds will be used to support CIS initiatives like the Cardboard Challenge every Spring.
The mission of Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County, according to the website, is ‘to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life’.
