The Salvation Army of Rome, GA is accepting applications all this month for the 2024 Angel Tree program.
Major Hank Harwell, Corps Officer, states that applications are accepted in person only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm through October 31st at The Salvation Army office, located at 317 East 1st Avenue in Rome.
According to a media release from The Salvation Army of Rome, GA –
The Angel Tree program in Rome, Georgia is available to families to supplement Christmas gifts for their children ages birth to 12 years. The Angel Tree program also is available for Seniors ages 65 & up. One food box will also be provided for each family. See requirements below:
• Applications are taken IN PERSON only on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the month of October.
• Registration is for Floyd, Polk, & Chattooga residents.
• Registration is available IN PERSON ONLY on the above dates.
• No online or phone call applications will be taken.
• Available for parents or guardians of children birth to 12 years of age.
• Available for Seniors ages 65 & up.
• Copies of ALL the following documents must be brought to the Salvation Army office located at 317 East First Avenue in Rome at the time of your application:
– Birth certificates or Medicaid card for all children in household
– All that you receive: food stamps, SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid.
– Proof of income for parent/guardian applicant
– Proof of residency (1st page of mortgage, lease, or utility bill showing address)
– Photo ID for applicant
• Failure to supply ALL documents by November 29, 2024 will result in being removed from the Angel Tree program after adequate attempts are made to contact you at the contact information that you provide.
Volunteers are also sought at this time to ring bells during the holiday season for the ’24 Red Kettle Campaign, especially groups of volunteers, says Major Harwell. The annual fundraiser will get underway on the Friday before Thanksgiving. Register to volunteer online at www.registertoring.com.
