ATLANTA BRAVES DROP NATIONAL LEAGUE WILD CARD SERIES OPENER TO SAN DIEGO PADRES

The Atlanta Braves were shut out by the San Diego Padres by 4-0 on Tuesday night in Game One of their best-of-three National League Wild Card Series at Petco Park in San Diego, CA.

Fernando Tatis Jr. had a two-run homer to get the Padres on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Kyle Higashioka drove in a run on a sac fly in the fourth and had a solo home run in the eighth.

AJ Smith-Shawver was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up three runs and four hits, walking none, and striking out one through one and a third innings. Michael King struck out 12 en route to the win for San Diego.
