ROME/FLOYD COUNTY 2024 PROPERTY TAX BILLS HAVE BEEN MAILED, DUE DATE IS NOVEMBER 15TH

Announcement from the Floyd County, GA Tax Commissioner:

2024 Rome/Floyd County property tax bills have been mailed. Here are a few facts regarding property taxes:

1. The due date is November 15th.

2. We always mail you a tax bill, even if you have an escrow that pays your taxes.

3. If you sold a property during the year, please forward the tax bill to the new owner.

4. Floyd County has a school tax exemption at age 65, but it does not eliminate all school taxes. If you’re over 65, you still will likely have school taxes on your tax bill. It does save you about $700.

5. You can’t appeal your assessment now. That deadline was 3 months ago.

6. Partial payments are always accepted if you can’t pay the entire bill at one time.

7. The homestead tax break we received last year was a one time tax reduction that was not renewed this year. This break saved most homeowners $500-600 dollars in 2023.
