NORTHWEST GEORGIA HUNGER MINISTRIES URGES LOCALS TO VOLUNTEER AND TAKE ACTION AGAINST HUNGER

Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries seeks new volunteers as we continue to get closer to the holiday season.

Now is a great time to pitch in your assistance as September is observed as Hunger Action Month, says Lindsey Kilby, Executive Director. She adds that September through December is the busiest time of year for her organization.

Volunteers are needed to help out with the Bagwell Food Pantry, Backpack Buddies, Cancer Navigator bags, and even clerical tasks. Opportunities are available to people of all ages, attests Kilby, who adds that her organization has had volunteers as young as three years old and as old as 97.

Concerned individuals (or groups) may register to volunteer and/or donate to Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries online at www.hungerministries.org.

The non-profit will benefit from the 2024 Empty Bowls event scheduled for November, according to Kilby. Details are forthcoming.
