ATLANTA BRAVES DENIED SWEEP WITH LOSS IN SERIES FINALE TO COLORADO ROCKIES, SET VERSUS TORONTO BLUE JAYS ON TAP FOR THIS WEEKEND AT TRUIST PARK

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Colorado Rockies by 3-1 on Thursday night in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park. That denied a sweep of the series for Atlanta.

The Braves scored the first run of the evening on an RBI single from Ramon Laureano in the bottom of the first inning. However, the Rockies tied it up in the top of the second on a solo home run from Michael Toglia. They took the lead with a homer from Ezequiel Tovar in the sixth and added another run on a sac fly by Nolan Jones in the seventh.

Reynaldo Lopez was charged with the loss for Atlanta after surrendering two runs and five hits, walking none, and striking out a season-high 11 over six innings. Austin Gomber picked up the win and Tyler Kinley got the save for Colorado.
The Braves are now 76-64 on the 2024 regular season and remain in second place of the National League East, now eight games back from the division-leading Philadelphia Phillies and tied with the New York Mets for the last NL Wild Card spot. They will host the Toronto Blue Jays in a three-game series over the weekend. First pitch of tonight’s outing is scheduled for 7:20 pm at Truist Park.
