ATLANTA BRAVES OPEN ROAD TRIP WITH WIN IN MINNESOTA OVER TWINS

The Atlanta Braves opened a seven-game road trip with a 10-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Monday evening in the first meeting of a three-game interleague set at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN.

Matt Olson led the Braves offensively with five RBIs, including a three-run homer in the top of the first inning. Travis d’Arnaud also contributed a two-run homer in the second.

Max Fried picked up the win for Atlanta after surrendering three runs (only one earned) and four hits, walking none, and striking out seven through five innings of work. Bailey Ober was charged with the loss for Minnesota.

Monday night’s game was halted in the second inning for just under an hour and a half due to rain in Minneapolis.

The Braves are now 71-60 on the 2024 regular season and remain in second place of the National League East. They also hold a three-game lead for the final NL Wild Card. The Twins are 72-59 and in third place of the American League Central. They now hold the last AL Wild Card. The teams will meet again this evening. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:40 pm Eastern.
