Media release from Atrium Health Floyd:
Dr. Kristin Ray, a recent graduate of Atrium Health Floyd’s Family Medicine Residency program, is seeing patients at Atrium Health Floyd Primary Care Family Medicine #102, 28 John Davenport Drive, in Rome.
Ray’s mother and grandmother were both nurses, which played a role in her decision to become a doctor.
She said she works to be her patients’ biggest advocate, empowering them to take control of their health.
“If I can give them the tools and the information that they need to take care of themselves better at home, and really give them the confidence to do that, then I feel like I’ve left them better than when they came to see me,” Ray said.
She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama. Ray earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.
Before being accepted to the Atrium Health Floyd Family Medicine Residency program, Ray was a medical assistant to an orthopedic surgeon at Northeast Orthopedics and Physical Therapy in Gadsden, Alabama. She also served as a pharmacy technician at CVS Pharmacy in Centre, Alabama.
To make an appointment with Ray, call 706-235-8485. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays. She also conducts video visits.
