ATLANTA BRAVES BLANKED IN SERIES FINALE AT SAN FRANCISCO BY GIANTS, ONWARD TO LA FOR THREE GAME SET VS. ANGELS THIS WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves were blanked by the San Francisco Giants 6-0 to wrap up a four-game set at Oracle Park in San Francisco, CA on Thursday afternoon. That denied a sweep of the series for the Braves.

The Giants scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Grant McCray and a sac fly by Tyler Fitzgerald. They added three more in the sixth on a two-run homer by Casey Schmitt and a solo home run by McCray. Matt Chapman had an RBI double in the seventh.

Max Fried was charged with the loss for Atlanta after surrendering three runs and five hits, walking three, and striking out five through five and one- third innings. Logan Webb was credited with the win for San Francisco.

The Braves will wrap up the current 10-game road trip out west this weekend with a three game series in Los Angeles, CA versus the Angels. First pitch of tonight’s series opener is set for 9:38 pm Eastern.
