The Atlanta Braves beat the San Francisco Giants 13-2 on Wednesday night in the third outing of a four game set in San Francisco, CA. That allowed the Braves to take a 3-0 lead in the series.
Orlando Arcia walked in a run to get the Braves on the board in the top of the first inning. That was followed by a grand slam from Michael Harris II in his grand return from the injured list, the first grand slam of his career. Tyler Fitzgerald homered for the Giants to begin the bottom of the first. The Braves notched a pair of lead-off home runs by Matt Olson and Austin Riley in the third and fifth innings, respectively. Jarred Kelenic had an RBI double to increase Atlanta’s lead to 9-1 in the sixth. Brett Wisely had an RBI single to give San Fran its second and final run of the evening in the seventh. Sean Murphy clubbed a two-run homer for the Braves in the eighth. The Braves scored two more runs in the ninth on an RBI groundout by Harris and an RBI single by Ramon Laureano. They won the ballgame, again, by a final score of 13-2.
Grant Holmes got the win for Atlanta, his first in the majors, after giving up two runs and eight hits, walking one, and striking out six over seven innings. Robbie Ray took the loss for San Francisco.
