ATLANTA BRAVES OPEN SET IN SAN FRANCISCO WITH EXTRA INNING WIN OVER GIANTS

The Atlanta Braves beat the San Francisco Giants 1-0 in 10 innings to open a four game series in San Francisco, CA on Monday night.

A pinch-hit, sacrifice fly by Travis d’Arnaud lifted the Braves to the late win. Chris Sale and Blake Snell were locked in a pitcher’s duel throughout most of the ballgame. Atlanta’s starter Sale gave up just three hits, walked none, and struck out a season-high 12 over seven scoreless innings. Rasiel Iglesias was credited with the win. San Francisco’s Snell surrendered two hits, walked three, and struck out 11 in six and a third innings. Taylor Rogers was charged with the loss.

The Braves and the Giants will meet again tonight; the first pitch is scheduled for 9:45 pm Eastern at San Francisco’s Oracle Park. Stay up late and listen to play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network locally on the airwaves of WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 8:30 pm.
