The Atlanta Braves were scheduled to play a split double header against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday to wrap up a three-game series and make up a game that was rained out on Tuesday night. The Reds won the first outing of the day by a final score of 9-4. The nightcap was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up on September 9th.
Cincinnati took the rain shortened set by 2-0. Atlanta went 1-4 during what turned out to be a five-game homestand.
The Braves will open up a seven game road trip this evening with the first of four National League East matches in New York against the Mets. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm. Tune into play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 5:55 pm.
