Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley has spent 2024 in celebration of its 40th anniversary. Betsy Allgood, Executive Director, enthuses that this has been a great year so far and invites the public to join the celebration. The next event will be the annual Drive One FORE! Habitat golf tournament scheduled for Monday, October 7th – World Habitat Day – at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Cedartown.
The slate of activities will also include a screening of the classic holiday film “It’s A Wonderful Life” on Saturday, November 30th at the City Auditorium in downtown Rome.
There was a great turn out for the biggest event of the year, the Overall Ball held in late June. It was part of the nonprofit’s year-long fundraising efforts which have netted over $68,000 so far, says Allgood.
All proceeds, adds Allgood, will assist Habitat in its mission to build homes, communities, and hope.
