The first day of the 2024-2025 school year is approaching, and Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County is preparing for it by seeking new mentors and volunteers.
Gregory Wooten, Executive Director, urges those who want to have a positive impact on local students to visit Communities In Schools of Rome-Floyd County (cisrome-floyd.org) for pending updates to the mentor/volunteer training calendar for this school year.
Participation in the training session and a background check are required for all would-be mentors and volunteers.
Those with questions may contact Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County via telephone at (706) 802-5740.
The CIS mission, states Wooten, is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
