ATLANTA BRAVES SETTLE FOR SERIES SPLIT IN ARIZONA WITH LOSS IN FINALE TO DIAMONDBACKS, ONWARD TO SAN DIEGO FOR THE WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 1-0 on Thursday night in the finale of a four-game set at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. That resulted in a 2-2 split of the series.

Eugenio Suarez homered to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning to account for the only run of the night.

Max Fried was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up that one run and five hits, walking three, and striking out seven over six innings. Brandon Pfaadt got the win, while Paul Sewald picked up the save for Arizona.

The Braves remain in second place of the National League East with a record of 51-41 on the 2024 regular season. They will be out in San Diego, CA over the weekend for a three-game set with the Padres. The first pitch of tonight’s series opener is slated for 9:40 pm Eastern.
