ATLANTA BRAVES’ MOST RECENT WINNING STREAK COMES TO AN END WITH WEDNESDAY NIGHT LOSS IN ARIZONA TO DIAMONDBACKS

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks by 7-5 on Wednesday night in the third outing of a four-game set at Chase Field out in Phoenix, AZ. It brought Atlanta’s most recent winning streak to an end at four consecutive games.

The Braves struck first with a two-run double by Travis d’Arnaud in the top of the second. The Diamondbacks tied the game in the bottom of that inning on a two-run homer from Eugenio Suarez. The Braves scored a run in the top of the third on a sac fly by Matt Olson, and Ketel Marte had a solo home run for the D’backs during the bottom of that inning. Arizona took a 5-3 lead in the seventh with an RBI double by Suarez and an RBI single by Jose Herrera. Marcell Ozuna clubbed a two-run homer for Atlanta to tie the game up at 5-5 during the top of the eighth.

However, the D’backs notched a pair of runs in the bottom of that inning on a bases-loaded walk from Christian Walker and a sac fly by Geraldo Perdomo. They won the ballgame, again, by a final score of 7-5 over the Braves.

Joe Jimenez was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Ryan Thompson got the win, while Paul Sewald picked up the save for Arizona.
