Rome City Schools is pleased to announce that Ashley Hoban has been named Assistant Principal at East Central Elementary School.
Hoban brings more than 15 years of experience to the role and a strong familiarity with Rome City Schools and East Central. Hoban began her teaching career in Bartow County Schools where she spent eight years. She moved to Rome City Schools in 2016 as a classroom teacher at East Central and moved into the literacy coach role in 2021. Hoban was East Central’s Teacher of the Year in 2020.
“I’m sincerely honored to have the privilege to serve East Central’s teachers, staff, and students in this capacity. Alongside Mrs. Lindsey and EC’s enormously talented teachers, I will continue to work to ensure educational excellence for our school as well as academic and personal growth for all students. I’m excited to begin this journey and look forward to the new school year,” Hoban says.
Hoban earned her BS in Elementary Education from Kennesaw State University and her Master’s of Education from the University of West Georgia. She has a reading endorsement from Kennesaw State and a Specialist in Education Teacher Leadership from Valdosta State University. She was recently accepted into Valdosta State’s Tier 1 Certification Program.
“I am excited to have Mrs. Hoban transition into the role of Assistant Principal. Mrs. Hoban works diligently to serve the faculty, staff, students, and families of East Central,” East Central Principal Samantha Lindsey says. “With extensive teaching and leadership experiences, Mrs. Hoban will continue to make a positive impact on students. She will continue to lead and support our dedicated team of educators. I am incredibly proud of her accomplishment. I look forward to next school year as we lead East Central in the continuous pursuit of excellence.”
Rome City Schools is pleased to announce that Hillary Daniel has been named Assistant Principal at Main Elementary School.
Daniel has close to a decade of teaching and administrative experience for Rome City Schools. She most recently served as assistant principal at East Central Elementary. Before that, she taught eighth-grade mathematics for Marietta City Schools and Rome City Schools. She has coached volleyball as well as basketball and football cheerleading and has served as the Black History Program Co-Chairperson and Chairperson for Rome City Schools.
“I am both grateful and excited to begin the upcoming school year at Main,” Daniel says. “The school is rich in history, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the families, faculty, and staff. All aboard!”
Daniel earned her BS in Middle Grades Education and Master’s in Middle Grades Education from Kennesaw State University.
