Join New Echota State Historic Site in Calhoun, GA on Saturday, June 29th from 10 am to 12 pm for outdoor flint knapping demonstrations! During the demonstrations, visitors will learn about different tools and methods that ancient societies across the world have used to create flint points for arrows, knives, and many other everyday tools. Renowned expert Andy Lee of The Primitive Arts will demonstrate the early history of stone tool and weapons making with various materials. From small arrowheads to spear points for atlatls and from knives to chopping tools, see how early southeastern residents made their way in life.
Regular admission fee of $6-$8 required and includes full admission to the museum, as well as the 17-minute film, self-guided tour of twelve historic and reconstructed buildings and admission to this special program.
