ATLANTA BRAVES SPLIT DAY-NIGHT TWIN BILL IN ST. LOUIS, MO WITH CARDINALS

The Atlanta Braves split a day-night double header in St. Louis, MO versus the Cardinals on Wednesday. The Braves won the opener by a final score of 6-2, while the Cardinals took the nightcap by 4-1. St. Louis additionally took the three-game series between the teams by two games to one.

The Braves jumped to an early lead in game one with four runs in the top of the second inning. Jarred Kelenic clubbed a two run homer in the top of the sixth.

Reynaldo Lopez secured the win for Atlanta in that first outing. Kyle Gibson took the loss for St. Louis.

Kelenic had a total of four RBIs on the day to include the only run scored by the Braves in game two.

Bryce Elder took the loss for Atlanta in the nightcap. Matthew Liberatore got the win and Ryan Helsley got the save for St. Louis.

The Braves remain in second place of the National League East with a record of 44-34 on the 2024 season. They will be in Chicago, IL this afternoon for a game against the White Sox that was snowed out in early April. First pitch is set for 4:10 pm.
