ATLANTA BRAVES DROP FINALE AND SERIES TO WASHINGTON NATIONALS AT TRUIST PARK, SET VERSUS OAKLAND A’S ON TAP FOR THE WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Washington Nationals 3-1 on Thursday night in the final meeting of a four-game National League East set at Truist Park. That allowed Washington to take the series by three games to Atlanta’s one.

The Nats notched all three of their runs in the top of the third with a two-run double by Joey Meneses and an RBI double from Jesse Winker. The Braves scored their only run of the night during the bottom of that inning on a sac fly by Michael Harris II that allowed Jarred Kelenic to reach home plate.

Ray Kerr was charged with the loss for Atlanta after surrendering three runs and five hits, walking two, and striking out seven in just three and two-third innings. Trevor Williams picked up the win and Kyle Finnegan got the save for Washington.

The Braves remain in second place of the NL East with a record of 31-23 on the 2024 regular season. They will host the Oakland A’s in a three-game set over the weekend. First pitch of tonight’s series opener is slated for 7:20 pm. Tune into play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 6:05 pm.
