VOTERS HEAD TO THE POLLS FOR GENERAL PRIMARY AND NONPARTISAN ELECTION TODAY

(From Floyd County, GA):

Today is Election Day!

On Election Day, all 19 polling locations in Floyd County are open from 7AM to 7PM. Check polling location and/or a sample ballot on the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.

This is both a General Primary and Nonpartisan Election. Nonpartisan candidates will appear on all ballots. With no democratic opposition both the Sheriff’s race and the Clerk of Superior Court race will be decided at the close of this election, barring any last minute write-ins. Nonpartisan candidate races will also be decided at the close of this election.

Here’s a reminder that all absentee by mail ballots must be received by 7PM on Election Day in order to be counted. Due to mail delays, Floyd County voters are encouraged to deliver absentee by mail ballots to the Elections Office at 18 East 12th Street, Rome.

In addition, Floyd County will be conducting an audit of the Sheriff’s race, the Clerk of Superior Court race, the Democratic House District 14 race, as well as the two batches and race that the Secretary of State mandates. This audit is open to the public, and will take place on Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31 at the Election Center.
