The Atlanta Braves defeated the Cleveland Guardians by 4-3 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at Truist Park. It allowed Atlanta to take the weekend series by two games to one.
The Guardians scored one run on an RBI single from Andres Gimenez in the top of the third inning and another on a wild pitch during the top of the fifth. Chadwick Tromp got the Braves on the board with an RBI single during the bottom of the fifth. Cleveland notched another run in the seventh on an RBI single by Steven Kwan. Atlanta picked up two runs on an RBI double from Ozzie Albies and an RBI single by Matt Olson to tie the game up at 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth.
Austin Riley clubbed a walk-off single which drove Ronald Acuna Jr. home to score the winning run for the Braves in the bottom of the 10th.
AJ Minter was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. Emmanuel Clase was charged with the loss for Cleveland.
That wraps up a nine-game homestand for Atlanta which resulted in a total of seven wins and two losses. The Braves will open up a six-game road trip out west tonight with the first of three games in Seattle, WA against the Mariners. First pitch is set for 9:40 pm Eastern.
