ROME-FLOYD PARKS AND RECREATION LOOKS FORWARD TO YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTS

Spring time is here and the ball fields are getting ready to see an abundance of action with more than 160 teams scheduled for tournaments the first two weekends of April and Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation’s spring league kicking off Monday, April 15 with 85 teams.

Thirty-five teams will see action behind the Levee at Riverview Park and the ball fields at Alto Park on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31.

Between three tournaments on the weekend of April 13, more than 100 baseball and softball teams will be taking over Alto Park, Riverview Baseball and Hugh Selman Complex at North Floyd Park.

Top Flight softball will be playing a two-day, 61-team tournament at Alto Park with age groups ranging of 12-18. PSA Baseball is scheduled to have at least 24 teams at Riverview Park and Training Legends is bringing 24 teams to the Hugh Selman Complex for the Jackie Robinson 42 Classic Tournament.

“We’re happy to host these tournaments and work with three different organizations to bring travel ball to Rome. The town will be very busy this weekend.,” says Todd Wofford, RFPRA Director. “This is a great opportunity for our local teams to get some extra games in too.”

One more tournament scheduled the weekend of April 20-21 already has 45 teams signed up to compete. There are many more tournaments scheduled throughout the rest of the spring, summer and fall seasons.
