The Atlanta Braves won a pair of split squad games in Spring Training action down in Florida on Thursday afternoon. The Braves will host the Baltimore Orioles this afternoon; first pitch is scheduled for 1:05 pm.
WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM will have coverage of Grapefruit League play from the Braves Radio Network this weekend. The team will be in Dunedin to take on the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday at 1:07 pm and will play host to the Philadelphia Phillies this Sunday at 1:05 pm. Airtime is set for 12:55 pm on both days.
Ben Ingram, play by play announcer for the Braves Radio Network, said in a recent interview on WLAQ that he expects positive things to come from new additions to the team. Pitcher Chris Sale and outfielder Jarred Kelenic were acquired from the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners, respectively, during the offseason.
Sale is well-respected in the Braves clubhouse for all of his accomplishments as a veteran pitcher, asserts Ingram.
Ingram says that Kelenic is a talented young individual who could benefit from spending some time with the Braves, and they could benefit from him.
Braves fans may hear Ingram with the call on the Braves Radio Network of
weekend Spring Training games on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM through Sunday, March 24th.
WLAQ will broadcast every pitch of the Braves’ ’24 regular season. Opening Day is set for Thursday, March 28th in Philadelphia versus the Phillies.
