WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM will have broadcast coverage tonight as the Model High School boys basketball team hits the road to take on Westside, Augusta in the Elite Eight round of the GHSA’s Class AA state tournament. Tip off is set for 6 pm.
The Blue Devils must overcome a tough opponent this evening if they want to make it to the Final Four for a second straight year. Westside, Augusta has won the state championship in the past two years. WLAQ Sports’ Matt Davis says that he looks forward to seeing what happens in tonight’s game.
If Model wins tonight, they will advance to the Final Four at Georgia College and State University down in Milledgeville on Saturday, says Davis.
The GHSA’s Class AA state championship game is scheduled for March 7th in Macon.
