Baseball is back! The Atlanta Braves opened Spring Training with a win and a loss over the weekend. They beat the Tampa Bay Rays by 6-5 on Saturday afternoon in Port Charlotte, Florida. Michael Harris II got the Braves on the board with a home run on the first pitch of that game. That was followed by a loss at home in North Port to the Boston Red Sox by a final score of 5-4 on Sunday.
Ben Ingram, play-by-play announcer for the Braves Radio Network, said in a recent interview on WLAQ’s ‘Good Morning, Rome’ that he expects a very potent offense from the team during the 2024 season, along with some strong pitching.
The Braves will continue Grapefruit League play this afternoon as hosts to the Baltimore Orioles at 1:05 pm.
