WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM will have coverage of Model High School basketball in the Sweet 16 round of the GHSA’s Class AA state playoffs this weekend.
The Lady Blue Devils will hit the road to take on Banks County tonight. Tip off is scheduled for 7 pm.

Model’s girls advanced in the state tournament with an opening round win at home over Therrell by 67-37 on Tuesday night.
Model’s boys remained alive in the state playoffs with a first round victory at home over Drew Charter by 49-43 on Wednesday night. The Blue Devils will go on to host Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy this Saturday evening at 7 pm.
Facing a tough opponent during the first round might have better prepared the Blue Devils for some even tougher opponents as the tournament progresses, attests Davis.
