MODEL HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM’S QUEST FOR A STATE TITLE BEGINS TONIGHT AS HOSTS TO THERELL IN ROUND ONE OF THE GHSA CLASS AA STATE PLAYOFFS

Model High School’s girls basketball team will host Therell tonight at 6 pm in the first round of the GHSA Class AA state playoffs. Broadcast coverage will be provided on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM.

WLAQ Sports’ Matt Davis enthuses that he looks forward to playoff action at Model’s Woodard Gymnasium.

The Lady Blue Devils enter this year’s state tournament as No.2 seed from Region 7-AA following a loss to Murray County in the region championship game last Friday night.

Davis indicates that some really good basketball players are on the team, and he expects good things from them in the state tournament.

Model’s girls aim to extend their season and continue their quest for a state title with a win this evening. After all, Davis says, just one team from each region classification will emerge as state champion in early March.
