Model High School’s basketball teams wrapped up their 2023-2024 regular season with a pair of wins at home over Rockmart on Tuesday night.
The Lady Blue Devils beat the Lady Yellow Jackets by 59-34 in the opener. Model’s girls ended up with a regular season record of 21-4 overall and 11-1 in Region 7-AA. They are still in a tie with Murray County atop the region standings; it may come down to a coin flip to determine who will be the host and top seed of the region tournament.
The Blue Devils won Tuesday’s nightcap by 76-39 over the Yellow Jackets. Model’s boys concluded the regular season with a record of 18-7 overall and 11-1 in region play. They are alone in the top spot of the Region 7-AA boys standings and are the top seed in the upcoming region tournament.
WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM will provide broadcast coverage of Model High School’s basketball teams if they make it to the championship round of the Region 7-AA tournament, as well as through the GHSA state playoffs.
