Local high school girls and boys basketball teams’ quest for the Gold Ball in the 2023 Seven Hills Rotary Christmas Tournament drew to a conclusion on Tuesday night with the championship round out at the Cage Center on the campus of Berry College.
Rome beat Calhoun 38-34 in the girls championship game. That marked the fourth straight year that the Lady Wolves have emerged as the victors in the Christmas Tournament.
Darlington picked up a 50-39 victory over Model in the boys championship game. That allowed the Tigers to hoist their third straight Gold Ball.
