The Atlanta Braves fell to the Philadelphia Phillies by a final score of 10-2 on Wednesday evening in Game Three of their National League Division Series at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA. That allowed the Phillies to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five set.
Things looked hopeful initially as the Braves scored the first run of the game on an RBI single from Ozzie Albies in the top of the third inning.
However, the Phillies struck back with six runs in the bottom of that inning to include a lead-off home run by Nick Castellanos, a three-run homer by Bryce Harper, and a two-run double by JT Realmuto. Harper opened the home half of the fifth with a home run. Orlando Arcia had an RBI single for the Braves in the top of the sixth. The Phillies tacked on another run in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run by Trea Turner and two more during the eighth on homers from Castellanos and Brandon Marsh.
Bryce Elder was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up six runs and five hits, walking one, and striking out four in just two and two-third innings. Aaron Nola was credited with the win for Philadelphia.
