ATLANTA BRAVES TO WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON AT HOME WITH SERIES AT TRUIST PARK AGAINST CHICAGO CUBS AND WASHINGTON NATIONALS

The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off day on Monday and will wrap up the 2023 regular season with a six-game homestand that will open this evening with the first of three outings versus the Chicago Cubs. Bryce Elder will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Justin Steele will head to the mound for Chicago. First pitch is slated for 7:20 pm at Truist Park. Catch all the action on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; airtime is 6:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

The National League East champion Braves head into the homestand with an MLB-best record of 100-56. They became the first team to reach 100 wins in 2023 with an 8-5 victory over the Washington Nationals on Sunday afternoon in game two of a doubleheader at Nationals Park up in Washington DC. That resulted in a 3-1 series win in Atlanta’s last road trip of the ’23 regular season.

The Cubs are 82-74 and in second place of the NL Central. They are now in the hunt for a Wild Card spot in the 2023 MLB postseason.

Atlanta’s series versus the Cubs will be followed by three games against the Washington Nationals at Truist Park over the weekend.
