The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off-day Thursday and will resume their current nine-game homestand over the weekend with a three-game set versus the San Francisco Giants at Truist Park. Spencer Strider serve as the starting pitcher for Atlanta in tonight’s opener, while Alex Cobb will be on the mound for San Francisco. First pitch is slated for 7:20 pm at Truist Park. That game will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM due to our coverage of high school football. Tune into WLAQ for the play-by-play action in the rest of the series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
The National League East-leading Braves head into the weekend series with an MLB-best record of 78-42 so far for the 2023 regular season. The Giants are 64-57 and in second place of the NL West.
Atlanta opened this homestand with a sweep of the New York Yankees earlier this week. This series versus San Francisco will be followed by three games against the New York Mets to begin next week.
