ATLANTA BRAVES SHUTOUT NEW YORK YANKEES IN TUESDAY NIGHT OUTING AT TRUIST PARK

The Atlanta Braves blanked the New York Yankees 5-0 on Tuesday night in the second outing of a three-game interleague set at Truist Park. That allowed Atlanta to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Marcell Ozuna got the home team on the board with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Ronald Acuna Jr. added a two-run shot during the fourth.

Bryce Elder was credited with as the winning pitcher for Atlanta after giving up only one hit, walking three, and striking out three through seven scoreless innings. Luis Severino took the loss for New York. Three of those five runs that he surrendered were earned.

The National League East-leading Braves improved their MLB-best record to 77-42 on the 2023 regular season. The Yankees are 60-60 and in last place of the American League East.
