ATLANTA BRAVES IN CHICAGO TO TAKE ON THE CUBS OVER THE WEEKEND

The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off day on Thursday and will be back in action this afternoon with the first of three games in Chicago versus the Cubs. Max Fried will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Kyle Hendricks will be on the mound for Chicago. First pitch is slated for 2:20 pm at Wrigley Field. Atlanta concluded a six-game homestand this past Wednesday afternoon with a 12-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in interleague play at Truist Park.

In addition to taking the series versus the Angels by 2-1, the Braves went 5-1 on their homestand.

The National League East-leading Braves head into this weekend’s series in Chicago with the best record in MLB at 69-37 on the 2023 season. The Cubs are 56-53 and in third place of the NL Central.

Atlanta’s series at Chicago will be followed by four games in Pittsburgh with the Pirates next Monday night through Thursday afternoon, then a four-game set in New York versus the Mets next weekend.
