The Atlanta Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 on Wednesday night in the finale of a three-game National League set at Truist Park; that allowed the Braves to avoid being swept in the series.
Matt Olson got the Braves on the board first with a solo home run during the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Dodgers tied it up at 1-1 with a lead-off home run by Mookie Betts in the top of the fifth. Marcell Ozuna clubbed a tie-breaking, two run homer in the bottom of that inning to put the Braves ahead by 3-1.
LA tied it up again in the top of the eighth on a ground out by Jason Heyward and a ground rule double by Miguel Vargas. Ozzie Albies secured a walk-off victory for the Braves with a sac fly in the bottom of the ninth.
Raisel Iglesias was credited with the win for Atlanta. Starting pitcher Bryce Elder gave up one run and seven hits, walked one, and struck out six over six innings. Phil Bickford was charged with the loss for LA.
The National League East-leading Braves are now 30-19 on the 2023 regular season. They will begin a four-game division series against the Philadelphia Phillies tonight in Atlanta.
