ATLANTA BRAVES EDGE TEXAS RANGERS TO TAKE SERIES AMONG DIVISION LEADERS

The Atlanta Braves defeated the Texas Rangers 6-5 on Wednesday night in the finale of a three-game interleague set in Arlington, TX. Atlanta took the series by 2-1.

Eddie Rosario got the Braves on the board with a two-run homer during the top of the second inning. But the Rangers surged ahead in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run by Adolis Garcia, an RBI double from Ezequiel Duran, and an RBI single by Leody Taveras. Garcia made it 4-2 in favor of the Rangers with another solo shot in the fifth. Ronald Acuna Jr. smacked a solo home run for Atlanta in the sixth. Texas notched another run with a sac fly by Corey Seager in the seventh. And then the Braves tied the game at 5-5 in the eighth on an RBI single by Ozzie Albies and an RBI double by Austin Riley.

Orlando Arcia put the Braves ahead by 6-5 with a solo home run in the top of the ninth.

Nick Anderson picked up the win in relief for Atlanta, while Raisel Iglesias got the save. Starting pitcher Spencer Strider surrendered four runs and six hits, walked three, and struck out seven over five innings. Brock Burke was charged with the loss for Texas.

The National League East-leading Braves are now 27-16 on the 2023 regular season, while the American League West-leading Rangers are 26-17.

The Braves are off today and will return to their home field at Truist Park on Friday evening to open up a 10-game homestand with the first of three games against the Seattle Mariners.
