Local law enforcement welcomed visitors from the Israeli Police Departments on Wednesday as part of the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange program (GILEE).
According to the Rome Police Department’s Facebook page –
GILEE shapes police executive leadership development through global engagement by investing in an exceptional peer-to-peer experiential learning environment. GILEE enhances public safety by sharing best practices of homeland security and community policing with emphasis on the protection of civil rights and liberties.
There are nine individuals in the Rome and Floyd County Law Enforcement community who have participated in the two-week GILEE program in Israel: Rome Police Department, Retired Chief Hubert Smith, and Retired Chief Elaine Snow, Chief Denise Downer-McKinney, Assistant Chief Debbie Burnett, Major Rodney Bailey, Captain Mark Tison and Captain Chris DeHart, and from the Floyd County Police Department, Chief Mark Wallace & Captain Greg Dobbins.
